Action Sports OSI / Instructor

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience with Skateboarding, Inline Skating, or BMX Freestyle is important
  • Instructs skateboarding, Inline Skating, or BMX Freestyle scheduled classes and Open Skate Instruction (OSI)
  • Usually required to be a resident cabin counselor
  • May be asked to do other duties in and around camp (e.g. driving)
  • Pay Negotiable

Gymnastics/ Cheer / Tumble Instructor

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience with Gymnastics, Cheer and Competitive Tumbling is important
  • Instructs Gymnastics, Cheer and Competitive Tumbling during mandatory instruction with a set group and at open gym's
  • Usually required to be a resident cabin counselor
  • May be asked to do other duties in and around camp (e.g. driving)
  • Pay Negotiable

Junior Counselor

  • Must be Gymnastics, Cheer, or Tumble.
  • Must be 16 or 17 years of age.
  • Must be able to make a 3 week commitment to camp.  One week as a paid camper and two weeks as a J.C.
  • Responsibilities will include Gym Crew, Bathroom, Mail, and Canteen Duties.
  • Apply using the "Camp Woodward Job Application"  Please include a letter describing why you should be chosen as well as 2 letters of recommendation from a teacher or coach.

 

Cheer CIT (coach in training)

  • Those eligible for the program are between ages 18-19
  • For those with previous involvement in cheerleading/tumbling needing to acquire more coaching experience.
  • Will train to be a coach in class groups underneath master staff.
  • Required to participate in mandatory spotting and coaching clinics.
  • After completing required training period, CIT's have the ability to be moved into a full coaching position.
  • Required to be a counselor if needed along with an instructor
  • On the employee application, CIT's will apply as all staff members, checking " Cheer Instructor/ Counselor" and filling out the application completely.  All applicants that meet the above requirements will be considered to be hired for the CIT program.
  • Pay negotiable

 

Maintenance

  • Must be at least 16 years of age and a local resident able to commute
  • Will be required to do general maintenance and repairs
  • Will include trash collection and cleaning
  • Seasonal full and part time positions available
  • Pay negotiable

 

Kitchen (Cafeteria)

  • Must be at least 16 years of age and a local resident able to commute
  • Will be required to do general serving, line prep work, and cleaning dining hall
  • Seasonal full and part-time positions available
  • Pay negotiable

 

Dish Dog

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Will be responsible for cleaning dishes and helping throughout the kitchen.
  • May be asked to do other duties at camp
  • Work is in exchange for stay at camp.

Outdoor Grills

  • Must be at least 16 years of age and a local resident able to commute 
  • Will be required to serve and prepare grilled food 
  • Responsible for set up and cleaning before and after shift 
  • Seasonal full and part-time positions available 
  • Pay negotiable

 

Camp Store and Canteen

  • Must be at least 16 years of age and a local resident able to commute
  • Will be required to do general store jobs (cashier, take orders, food prep)
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Seasonal full and part-time positions available
  • Pay negotiable

 

Office

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and a local resident able to commute
  • Will do general office duties (typing, filing, messages, answering phones)
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Must be able to communicate in a knowledgeable, friendly, and clear manner
  • Seasonal full and part-time positions available
  • Pay negotiable

 

Housekeeping

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and a local resident able to commute
  • Will be doing general cleaning duties
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Seasonal full and part-time positions available
  • Pay negotiable

 

Pool Lifeguard

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have current Lifeguard certification and Red Cross training
  • Will be responsible for guarding the pool during scheduled hours
  • Will be responsible for opening and closing pool procedures
  • Previous experience important
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule including weekends
  • Pay negotiable

 

Nurse (Infirmary)

  • Must be at least 25 years of age
  • Child must be a registered camper, and will receive a discount in exchange for parent employment
  • Must be a registered RN in the state of residence
  • Previous experience teaching or working with children is important
  • May be asked to do other duties in and around camp (e.g. counseling)

 

Arts and Crafts

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Responsible for instructing arts and crafts classes to campers
  • Responsible for ordering supplies and keeping a budget
  • Previous experience is important
  • Pay negotiable

 

Digital Photography Lab

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Responsible for instructing photography and video classes to campers
  • Responsible for ordering supplies and keeping a budget
  • Previous experience with Apple Computer, Imovie, and Photoshop software important
  • Pay negotiable

 

Rockwall

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Responsible for instructing rock wall climbing to campers
  • Previous experience important
  • Responsible for safety and maintenance of equipment
  • Pay negotiable

 

Ropes Course

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Responsible for instructing campers in ropes course
  • Responsible for maintenance and safety during operation
  • Responsible for proper opening and closing procedures of ropes course
  • Pay negotiable

 

Recreation Program

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of the daily recreation activities
  • Responsible for maintaining supplies and a budget
  • Responsible for instructing and supervising counselors as to recreation duties
  • Pay negotiable

 

Paintball

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Responsible for instructing campers and staff in paintball
  • Responsible for refereeing and officiating games
  • Responsible for maintenance and safety
  • Pay negotiable

 

Go Kart Racing

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Responsible for safety and maintenance of go karts
  • Responsible for light grounds work and upkeep of the track
  • Must be able to instruct campers in proper driving and safety techniques
  • Previous experience with Honda small engine repair and associated drivetrain important
  • Pay negotiable

 

Transportation

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Responsible for scheduling, coordinating , and maintaining ALL camp transportation needs
  • Responsible for transportation in regards to medical needs and emergencies
  • Responsible for maintenance and safety of ALL camp vehicles
  • Previous experience driving large, non-commercial vehicles helpful
  • Pay negotiable

 

Camp DJ

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of the daily music needs for camp.
  • Responsible for maintaining audio equipment and providing "child friendly" music playlists.
  • Responsible for assisting program directors and supervising counselors as necessary.
  • Experience with turntables, DJ software, and a variety of audio equipment is helpful.
  • Pay negotiable

 

{sliderMusic Recording Instructor/ Counselor}

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Previous experience with Apple IMac computers, audio equipment, and Pro Tools LE.
  • Also must be familiar with Abelton Live and Reason software applications.
  • Experience with Live sound and DJ equipment is an added plus.
  • The ability to work with youth in a relaxed summer camp enviroment.
  • Instructs campers in creative music techniques, managing and maintaining audio equipment, and integrating a variety of skills necessary for producing high quality digital music recordings.
  • Required to teach the basics of music recording, microphone setup, engineering and mixing audio.
  • Experience with playing and caring for musical instruments, live performance, and using a variety of audio equipment helpful.
  • The ability to be flexible, guide and educate a camper in any music related project of their desire.
  • May be asked to do other duties in and around camp.
  • Pay negotiable

 

Video Production Instructor/Counselor

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Working experience with Apply iMac computers and Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut Pro X and 7.
  • The desire to work with youth in a relaxed summer camp environment.
  • Instructs campers in video camera techniques, managing and editing footage, and integrating a variety of skills necessary for video production.
  • The flexibility to guide, instruct and educate campers in a videography project of their desire.
  • Experience with track dollies, jib arms, tripods, green screens, and audio equipment helpful.
  • May be asked to do other duties around camp.
  • Host Orientation and distribute certificates of completion to all program campers.
  • Pay negotiable

 

Digital Photography Instructor/Counselor

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Working experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Bridge) as well as Lightroom computer software is necessary.
  • The ability and desire to work with youth in a relaxed summer camp environment.  Teach the basics of digital photography utilizing our 5,000 square foot studio and the Woodward Camp environment.
  • Ability to cater to a campers creative needs and instruct best practices based on their desired project.
  • Experience with lighting, flashes, tripods, and using a variety of lenses is important.
  • Host orientation and provide awards and certificated of completion for their program campers
  • May be asked to do other duties around camp.
  • Pay negotiable

 

Graphic Arts Instructor/Counselor

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Previous experience with Apple IMac computers and Adobe CS5 suite computer software is necessary.
  • Instructs campers in camera techniques, managing and editing projects, and integrating a variety of skills necessary for producing high quality motion graphics and print images.
  • Experience with video equipment, DSL cameras, and using a variety of software helpful.
  • May be asked to do other duties around camp.
  • Pay negotiable

 

Digital Media Intern

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must have previously attended as a Woodward Camper
  • Responsible for assisting Digital Media Instructor with campers and their projects.
  • Must have experience with Apple IMac computers and software
  • Video: Must have working experience with DSLR and HD video cameras. Software experience in Final Cut Pro 7 and X as well as Adobe Premier is required.
  • Photo: Must have working experience with DSLR cameras and software experience in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge.
  • Graphic Arts: Must have working experience with Maya, and Cinema 4D is recommended.
  • Ownership digital media equipment and/or musical instruments helpful.
  • Desire and passion to work with youth and teach digital media.
  • Applications with a resume and links to current work is mandatory before we consider anyone for an internship.
  • Internships for Woodward Films and content creation are also available.  Requirements are the same as above.
  • This is NOT a paid position - Room and board are provided.
